Description

In this story, something strange is happening with Franky's friends after a freaky storm. Franky is surprised to see that it had recently happened after they have arrived. He, his old friend Danny, and his friends in freaky finds out what had caused the storm. It is a story that can be read by 7+ children. Increasing exposure to new vocabulary is important. Learning new words, defining them and using them in a new context give a solid base. The new children’s book from No. 1 bestselling author David Walliams – a fantastically funny tale illustrated by artistic genius, Tony Ross.

This one was a little hard for me to rate in the end....I think the way this was written using letters was really cool and I haven't seen this in a middle grade before. Also reading this from an adult's perspective was quite funny, especially with the rules and secrets the kids think they have that their parents surely couldn't know about. The new children’s book from No. 1 bestselling author David Walliams – a timeless adventure illustrated by artistic genius, Tony Ross. Outstanding! At first I thought this was a baby book and nothing more but my friend kept persuading me to read it. When i started reading, i fell in love with it and I was glued to the book. Astounding book. Recommend to 5-13 year olds. Franky can't wait to move to his new town - although he wishes he didn't have to leave his best friend Dani behind. But everything changes after the storm, when strange green lightning and powerful thunder crash down on the town. This resource gives your class more understanding of the book by completing this comprehension based on the prologue of the book.

Tom Fletcher Press Reviews

Extra extension exercise provided were your class will create a factual poster about thunderstorms. After moving house and area, Franky struggles to fit in with a new school. He communicates with his friend from his past school, Dani by letter - and this is the basis of the book. We basically follow Franky writing his letters to Dani, every month - and how he gets on settling into a new school, and dealing with family (including a baby brother). I like the beginning of the storey when Erik was swimming in the pool and suddenly there was some green flashes and Erik turned into a shark. Tom also writes the incredibly successful Who's in Your Book? picture-book series and is one half of the author duo behind the Dinosaur that Pooped picture-book series too, which has sold over 1.5 million copies. Meet Frenkie, he just moved to the little town of Bizar (though I guess if one moves from Grijsdorp it is an improvement) and misses his dear friend Dani a lot. We see how he tries to make the best of things and writes letters to his friend Dani. And then a big green poopy stinky storm happens and things get very weird and very bizarre. The story gets more and more magical and silly with each new month and I just LOVE LOVE LOVED it. It may have come over a bit episodic, but I think it wouldn’t have worked in another way given this book takes place over a year. It would just be too big or you would lose tons of story.

NOTE: I read this book in Dutch. I have no clue what the English names for everything is, so I am going to be using the Dutch names. In this resource, your class will practise identifying and creating contractions. They will have to read the sentences, spot the words they can shorten and fill in the appropriate contraction. Then there are shadows lurking and stalking, inventions being made, there are secrets (and one I definitely didn’t see coming about a certain character who I wasn’t a fan of because of their responsibilities that they didn’t seem to take). The club has a lot of things to figure out and I loved seeing them get together and do things. I am so happy that Frenkie found friends so fast and that he has so much fun in his new town. El genio creativo Rob Biddulph deslumbra con esta nueva serie llena magia, peligro, amistad y arte, pensada para niños a partir de 8 años.Love the audiobook and the actual physical book is, in my own opinion, FANTASTIC! Tom is an amazing author and Shane Devries' illustrations are amazing. This book made me jealous that all the children in the story had really cool superpowers and i don't! Some of the children could turn into sharks when getting wet!

Armistice Day: A Collection of Remembrance - Spark Interest and Educate Children about Historical Moments The book is useful for KS2 children, which refers to Key Stage 2 in the UK educational system, because it promotes creativity, imagination, and problem-solving skills. The Danger Gang is a thrilling adventure that captures children’s imaginations and encourages them to think critically about the challenges that the characters face. The Danger Gang is a children’s adventure book written by Tom Fletcher, illustrated by Shane Devries, and published in 2018. It follows the story of a group of children who must save their town from a dangerous villain who has stolen a powerful invention. These extracts have been taken from chapter 9 of ‘The Danger Gang’. Your Year 3 / Year 4 class will have to identify and insert inverted commas where there is speech. This book was interesting and creative, with an array of different powers and objects. It all starts when Franky Brown moves to the town of Freaky, and there is a smelly storm and the kids in the town of Freaky get all of these cool abilities and things!!!

The electrifying new adventure from bestselling author of The Christmasaurus and The Creakers, Tom Fletcher!

Hello Yellow - 80 Books to Help Children Nurture Good Mental Health and Support With Anxiety and Wellbeing - The art was fabulous though I did think it was a bit odd how much they differ. You had SUPER detailed and gorgeous art, and more simple but also fun art. Between the two sometimes the characters just looked vastly different which was confusing. I still loved the art, don’t get me wrong, but I think it would be better if it had all been in one style. Can Anisha Mistry find out who sabotaged her science experiment and flooded the school with foam when all the potential suspects have alibis? I thought it was an interesting book and it tells you how a group of friends save an invention from being stolen. It was a fiction book and my favourite character was a boy called Frank Brown who life felt to me like a rollercoaster.Franky can't wait to move to his new town - although he wishes he didn't have to leave his best friend Dani behind. It was amazing to see each of the kids getting their superpowers as he was writing to his friend Dani. It was also amazing to see his Dad as a secret agent. Esto es lo que necesitaba para salir (parcialmente) de mi bloqueo lector. Este libro fue imaginativo, chistoso, y lleno de ilustraciones geniales. I wasn’t a fan of the teacher though. How she handled the class, that math stuff and forcing people to do maths until they gets something right, there is the Valentines Day thing. Lord woman, be a better teacher.
