I would always go for separation over volume, but I'm not sure the preference is worth the extra money! A little wiggle here, a swift swipe there, and it’s hello to inky-black, defined and clump-free lashes quicker than you can say, “Here come the curls”. Great review sweetie, this looks amazing on your lashes :) I love the design of the brush as you do feel it when applying. The play on words with curlers for your hair isn’t even cheesy because I would totally say the oomph factor of this mascara vs.

Most notably, this mascara creates a ‘wide-eyed’ effect, which I think is quite important as a Girl in Glasses – how to make your eyes stand out behind those lenses! The skinnier the brush, the more I know it’ll do wonders to add volume and length to my medium-ish lashes AND for getting the itty bitty lashes on the corners of my eyes. A tip is that you can layer a base coat of Roller Lash with a second coat of They’re Real to get some real drama but I would recommend dabbing your brush on a tissue for the second coat, otherwise the heaviness of the They’re Real formulation might drag down the curl in your lash that you have just tried to enhance. My favorite mascara of all time (see I'm blind without glasses, so I look dopey as all get out trying to make sure I was looking right at the camera to give a one coat on one eye photo comparison)! I wore this mascara on several occasions, thinking the smudges were just a one time thing, but it smudged EVERY time; so annoying and the clumping was awful.

I think the slightly tacky formula of Roller Lash definitely helps it in curling your lashes, which the formula of They’re Real takes longer to dry and so gives you time to completely separate your lashes. Though I can’t stand clumpy mascara — that is definitely not the look I am going for when I go to apply my mascara. Roller Lash on the other hand tends to clump easily if you don’t apply it properly or use more than two coats.

Although I haven’t been using the Benefit Roller Lash mascara for 4 weeks, I have been using it every day since I got it and agree that it lifts, gives a long-lasting curl, and makes my eyes look wide open. Roller Lash has a much sticker, tackier feel on the lashes while They’re Real is a more watery formula. I’m always looking for a new mascara that has it all, and with all the mystery surrounding the launch of this product (I wasn’t the only one who saw all those ‘mystery mascara’ reviews, right? You’ll have to be the judge of whether or not that’s a good look for me in the photos below… I applied just one coat on my top lashes with a light hand, which is really all you need. I've not tried the Roller Lash yet, but seeing everyone's pictures is making me really tempted to try it.

meaning that my eyes refrained from freaking out and springing forth tears like they’d spotted a sad dog story on The Daily Mail. I really like the roller lash and I'd seen the Maybelline mascara on the shelf but I didn't take a close look at it, I didn't know it was a potential dupe!

The wand is everything when it comes to mascara, and Benefit did an amazing job with the design of this one - my lashes are longer, fuller, and much more lifted than they were before. In the photographs above I am wearing 2 coats of the roller lash mascara, I have since tried using it and applying more coats to try and achieve a fuller look to my lashes but I didn't like the look and my lashes looked really spidery and clumpy, so I wouldn't recommend using more than 1 or 2 coats of the mascara. The magic of Benefit Roller Lash Mascara is all in the very new, very special and very different brush – the Hook n Roll brush. However Benefit have outdone themselves with Roller Lash, making an all new mascara to cater for all the people who weren’t too impressed by They’re Real. One of the first times I wore it, I had no other makeup on at all and my boyfriend commented just out of the blue “your eyes look pretty”! First off, I have extremely dry, sensitive eyes (and eyelids) and I alternate between wearing contacts and glasses depending on my mood. On days when I know I'm going to sweat a lot, cry or get caught in the rain (or swimming hahaha kidding), I'll keep a distance from it and opt for a waterproof mascara. Read more about the condition New other (see details): A new, unused item with absolutely no signs of wear.

I still haven't tried my sample from Elle, it's been sitting in my makeup drawer untouched but hopefully I will use it soon to see what all the hype is about. I used a normal make up wipe to try get it off and it just glided off and didn’t leave me with big “panda eyes”. Please excuse the lower quality and any inconsistences as I was taking these photos just while getting ready. I will admit that my lashes are naturally slightly curled, but even so I definitely won’t need to use my eyelash curler anymore when using this mascara. There seems to be too much product loading on the brush but that's probably because I didn't know anything about the scrapey thing that it has.
